Welder Protection

All staff working in a welding environment should wear proper protection against welding flashes. An electric arc is a lesion on the cornea caused by ultraviolet radiation. Did you know that UV rays can reach up to 80 feet from the welding site? This type of lesion can also reach the eye's conjunctiva (eye whites); thus, it is not necessary to look directly at the welding arc to be affected.
